Care & Support

Support with difficult decisions

The process of choosing a care home for a much loved family member can be a trying time for the family. Our team at The Belmont Care Home in Cheadle will understand the emotions involved and will do all they can to make the process easier. They`ll support you from the first time you look around the home, to your loved one moving in, and throughout their time with us.

Seeing a loved one change can be a difficult and heart breaking experience. But, with the right support, you can continue to have fulfilling and rewarding relationships.

You are welcome to visit any time of the day or night, and take part in the care homes activities, to help your loved one with their morning or evening routine, or to just enjoy a relaxing meal with them.

Walking in someone else's shoes

We are committed to providing dementia training for all our dedicated staff , so that they have an understanding of what it might be like to live with dementia, including physical, visual, and hearing challenges that the disease poses.

Our specialist dementia training includes a day of intensive empathy training, a day of training around communication and life history, plus MCA DOLS which provides them with knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act.

Our training helps care staff to put themselves in the shoes of someone living with dementia. If a person truly believes, for example, that they need to catch a bus or collect the children from school, colleagues are encouraged to support them through conversation and helping them to feel valued in the here and now.

The empathy training provides an in-depth understanding of why a resident might act in a certain way and our staff develop more patience and work harder to understand what they`re trying to say to you.

Come and visit us at any time.
We are here to help and look forward to giving you a warm welcome.
